The SIDS Foundation (aka, SIDS.Foundation) is committed to protecting your privacy, while delivering services to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This privacy statement explains many of the data collection and use practices of the SIDS Foundation, regarding the use of the Wireless Wearable Biometric Ankle Wrap (WWBAA).

The biometric data collected, is for the purpose, of SIDS research and prevention. It is treated with the utmost sensitivity and concern for your privacy.

The WWBAA, provides a means to record biometric data of your baby during sleep. The WWBAA, provides a vital tool to researchers and allows for the evaluation infant biometric information, such as body temperature, heart rate and sleep position. By using the WWBAA device, you agree and consent to allow the SIDS foundation, the use of the data collected only by authorize users. The biometric data is NOT, shared with unauthorized users, or displayed over the internet for public viewing. Future, added services may implement infant stimulation features to help prevent SIDS altogether.

Collection and Use of Your Information

The biometric data, we collect from your baby will be used by the SIDS Foundation, and its controlled subsidiaries and affiliates to enable researchers to study infant biometric only as requested or authorized by you. It may also be used to analyze and improve the SIDS Foundation, products and services.

Some of the SIDS Foundation services, may send email that is considered part of the service. We may occasionally request your feedback, invite you to participate in surveys, or send information of other products or services available from the SIDS Foundation and its affiliates.

To offer, you a more consistent, and personalized experience in your interactions with the SIDS Foundation, information collected through one the SIDS Foundation’s service may be combined with information obtained through other SIDS Foundation services. We may also supplement the information we collect with information obtained from other companies. For example, we may use services from other companies that enable us to derive a general geographic area based on your IP address to customize certain services to your geographic area.

Except as described in this statement, personal information you provide will not be transferred to third parties without your consent. The SIDS Foundation, may access or disclose information about you, including the content of your communications, in order to: (a) comply with the law or respond to lawful requests or legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of SIDS Foundation or our customers, including the enforcement of our agreements or policies governing your use of the services; or (c) act on a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of the SIDS Foundation employees, customers, or the public.

Information that is collected by or sent to the SIDS Foundation may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which the SIDS Foundation or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers maintain facilities. The SIDS Foundation, abides by the safe harbor framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of data from the European Union and the European Economic Area.

Security of your information

The SIDS Foundation is committed to helping protect the security of your information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the information you provide on computer systems with limited access, which are in controlled facilities.

Changes to this privacy statement

We will occasionally update this privacy statement to reflect changes in our products, services, and customer feedback. When we post changes, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this statement. If there are material changes to this statement or in how the SIDS Foundation, will use your personal information, we will notify you either by posting a notice of such changes prior to implementing the change or by directly sending you a notification.
